MY PAST LIVES
Czech nurse in World War II.
I was born around 1920, I am not sure if it was in Czechoslovakia itself. In any case, it was a very small village, where my grandparents raised me.
My mother didn't seem to have time to take care of her child. She came and went as she wished, making the decisions she thought convenient for me.
After my grandmother's death, as a teenager, I had to move to Prague. Here I started to work as a housemaid in the apartment of a German man named Heinrich. I suspect he was my father, but he never acknowledged it.
I began to study in the Nursing School in Prague, when the Second World War broke out and Nazis occupied Czechoslovakia. While I was working in a hospital I met a German soldier, Johann, with whom I fell in love.
I was recruited and both were sent to France. I have reasons to believe my road ended in Cayeux-sur-Mer. Overwhelmed by my boyfriend's death in the front, the sexual abuse of a German officer and the little hope I had to survive the war, I decided to kill myself. It is very likely this happened in 1942.
